Introduction to Mavis

Mavis is a digital tool designed to help school age immunisation service (SAIS) teams manage their vaccination programmes end to end.

It has been built by an NHS England team working closely with SAIS staff and parents, to make it as effective as possible.

Mavis aims to remove the problems of system fragmentation and manual data entry, as well as improving data quality and vaccine uptake.

What ‘parent’ means in Mavis

In Mavis and this guide, ‘parent’ means anyone who has the legal right to consent to a child’s vaccination. This includes someone with parental responsibility or delegated authority to consent to vaccinations.

Mavis changes frequently

We make updates around twice a week.

Do not print this guide, as printed copies will quickly become out of date. Always refer to the online version.

Safeguarding and data protection

Mavis does not replace your team’s responsibilities for safeguarding, information governance or data protection.

Read about safeguarding and data protection responsibilities before using Mavis.
