Recording vaccinations in a clinic

Note:

This guidance is for teams taking part in the clinics pilot. If your team is not taking part, use the existing guidance for clinics. We’re continuing to improve these features during the pilot, so some screenshots and instructions may not match what you see in Mavis.

Find the session and select it.

Then, from the session overview, find the child’s appointment record by selecting Appointments, then their name. Other ways to find the child are by selecting Children in session or Record vaccinations.

As with school sessions, the Record vaccinations tab only shows children for whom all the following points apply:

  • they have consent to be vaccinated
  • they have been triaged as safe to vaccinate (if triage was necessary)
  • they are registered as attending the session (if you’re using registration)

If the parent has not yet answered health questions about the child, ask the questions at the appointment.

Follow the same steps as for a school session to review the child’s details, do pre-screening checks, record the outcome, and keep track of vaccinations.
